Truck Axle Hub Bearing

Truck Axle Hub bearings are used in axle shafts in combination with ball, straight roller and tapered varieties of bearings and are mounted in internalized locations to support the weight of the vehicle while keeping the drive axle seated firmly in center. Straight roller designs with solid beam roller axles are used in rear drive vehicles with dual rows of bearings. Another use of Truck Axle Hub bearings is that the axle tube acts as 'races(protective shield)' for the two bearings. The rear suspension layouts and and non-driven rear hubs will feature tapered roller assemblies in conjugation with the axle apparatus.

Truck Axle hub bearings are usually made out of cast iron.
Front wheel drive hubs do not require any lubrication as they are sealed units.
They counter the immense force generated by the turning of the wheels, so the weight is distributed more heavenly upfront by the means of tapered bearings included in them.
Since they are constructed with integrated bearing assemblies, they cannot be replaced separately, instead the whole shaft axle has to be replaced thus eliminating any persisting faults due to any single malfunctioning faulty innards.
